E-Forex
Peer-to-peer FX, wallets and bill payments on one platform.
Overview
E-Forex (PrimeFX) is a Ghana-focused peer-to-peer foreign exchange and digital payments platform, delivered as a progressive web application. It includes a customer app for trading, wallets, bills and profile management, and an admin portal for KYC, compliance monitoring, users, roles and reporting.
The Challenge
FX in Ghana still splits across banks, bureaux and informal trading. Rates are hard to compare, informal deals carry fraud risk, and bill payments and wallets usually live somewhere else. A marketplace without KYC, escrow and an admin control layer is not operable.
The Approach
The product was designed as two surfaces on one system: a customer PWA for FX and payments, and an administration layer for identity, compliance and operations. Matching, escrow, wallets and KYC were treated as core—not extras bolted on after the trading board.
The Solution
Users can post and accept buy/sell offers at user-defined rates, hold GHS, USD, EUR and GBP wallets, move funds, and pay bills. Trades settle through escrow. Identity is handled with registration, 2FA and KYC document review. Administrators monitor users, KYC, payment accounts, disputes, reports and audit logs through role-based access.

Impact / Outcomes
FX trading, multi-currency wallets, bill payments and compliance administration sit in one platform rather than as disconnected payment and identity tools.
Lessons
Fintech products fail at the join between the customer flow and the control layer. If KYC, escrow and reporting are not designed with the wallet, the marketplace cannot be governed.
